Different Types Of Rosacea

Known as the “curse of the Celts,” rosacea is a chronic pores and skin situation that commonly impacts Caucasians. Rosacea is really a term given to people who usually blush particularly in the center of the face like the cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead.  This disease also affects women compared to men, although when it hits men, it is usually worse.  The signs and symptoms of rosacea includes burning sensation of the face, inflammation of pastules and papules, visible blood lines within the face, and in severe instances in men, the abnormal growth of the nose.  You will find also instances of Rosacea where the eye is involved either by reddening of the eyes or occurrence of sties.

You will find 4 various types of rosacea, and those who have the situation may get one of these four. The first type of Rosacea is called erythematotelangiectatic rosacea. This kind is known for flushing face and persistent redness of the skin. Dilated blood vessels that causes visible red lines in the face, known as telangiectasia, may be present too even though it is not required for the diagnosis of this kind of rosacea. It may also include other symptoms such as central facial edema, roughness, and stinging and burning sensations. Those people who only have a history of flushing is often diagnosed with erythematotelangiectatic rosacea.

The next type of rosacea is papulopustular rosacea. This kind of condition is actually designated by central face blushing paired with reddish colored humps (papules) with some pus loaded (pustules) which lasts for about four days. This condition is usually confused with cystic acne, except that there are no blackheads (comedones). Burning together with stinging feelings might also be existing in this malady. Papulopustular rosacea is frequently recognized in addition with erythematotelangiectatic rosacea. The existence of telangiectasia may be misdiagnosed because of the persistent redness of the skin and papules and pustules.

Phymatous rosacea is the third kind of rosacea and is often related with rhinophyma or the growth of the nasal area. This kind of condition is marked by the thickening of the epidermis and unpredictable surface nodularities. Aside from the nose, this may also affect the chin (gnatophyma), cheeks, eye-lids (blepharophyma), forehead (metophyma), and ears (otophyma).
