Regardless if you are buying a new car or repainting your old one, selecting the car paint color can be a tricky thing. 1) The car type. For obvious reasons, some cars look good in certain colors. Luxury sedans exhibit even more beauty in elegant, classy car paint colors such as black and silver. Sports cars and muscle cars have such brash personalities that they almost need a bright and loud paint job to complement it. Tiny compact cars are normally cute-looking and would look best even with unique shades of blues and greens and even purples.

2) Your personality. Not everyone wants to stand out and not everyone wants to blend in. What type of personality have you got? For those who prefer to be noticed, a funky car paint color will be very satisfying, just as shades like beige and brown would suit those preferring to disappear into the crowd. But do remember, brightly painted cars tend to attract the attention of traffic cops!

3)  The resale value of the car. If you are planning to sell the car later, keep in mind that classic car paint colors like silver, black and white have better resale value. Cars in such colors tend to resell much more easily as compared to those with a bright canary yellow. However, because of that convenience in reselling, those very colors can make the vehicle more prone to theft as well!

4)  Climate and functionality. If you live in the tropics or an otherwise hot region, picking a black or dark car paint color may not be the best idea. If you regularly drive at nighttime, such dark colors will be unsuitable. How about dirt and dust? These are very visible on car paint colors like black or white, so if you are not up to washing your car, darker shades suits you best.
